Dit is het zevende Engelstalige Jaarboek van de Stichting Gerrit Kreveld, uitgever van Sampol. Met deze publicatie pogen we de geïnteresseerde buitenlandse lezer te informeren over de complexe Belgische politiek in het algemeen en de stand van zaken van en uitdagingen voor onze sociaaldemocratie in het bijzonder. Na verkiezingen in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 en 2010, bevinden we ons opnieuw tussen twee verkiezingen in: de lokale en provinciale verkiezingen van 14 oktober 2012 en de federale, regionale en Europese verkiezingen van 25 mei 2014. We vroegen aan ’s lands voornaamste politicologen een terug- en vooruitblik op beide stembusgangen. Daarnaast werpt deze publicatie haar licht op de verschillen tussen de Vlaamse en Franstalige socialisten die, hoewel samen in de regering Di Rupo, volgend jaar erg verschillende vooruitzichten hebben.
